I’ve been printing some photos from processing deer this winter
and from the John Beargrease Dog Sled Marathon.
I’ve been skinning beaver tails
and will be using their translucent tail skin for a new bunch of photograms.
I figured out my own mix of natron based on the Science Museum Egyptian mummy exhibit where they mummified a chicken. It’s a combination of sodium carbonate (pool salt), sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), and sodium chloride (kosher salt). I’m using the natron blend to dehydrate, or essentially mummify, the beaver tail skin.
I’ve been learning a whole new process: metalcasting
I love the way the bits of metal slag look that spill over and splash off the molds.
I’m playing around with printing some cell phone sketches from the past fall.
Turtles, turtles, and more turtles…
