250# casting of a maple tree from my cabin in the iron range, created with 3,000# of sodium silicate bonded sand in 15 pieces with a 3-piece suspended core.
Back in March few of us from the university had a performance titled “Plowshare” selected for the National Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art & Practices at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Sloss was once a pig iron producer for almost a century and is now a national historic landmark and arts and event center.
